gsSCENE needs YOU - Take Your Pick!

Sep 8, 2010

gsSCENE has more than just events that you can get involved in. There are also five committees of gsSCENE that make the organization what it is. Any gsSCENE member is able to sit on one of these committees and with such a wide variety of committee options ever member is sure to find something to fit them! We need YOU to make gsSCENE the best it can be!

Events Committee
Meets the 4th Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. This committee coordinates, plans and executes over 15 events annually including; all networking socials, Shuckin’ on the Strand Oyster Roast, Kickin’ for Charity Kickball Tournament, Morning Rush and other small networking gatherings.

Membership Committee
Meets 2nd Tuesday of every other month at 5 p.m. This committee works on the gsSCENE membership card, they coordinate and oversee the Ambassador program and gsSCENE All Access which gives gsSCENE members all access to their membership benefits. The Membership Committee also produces and evaluates the annual membership survey. “I hope to increase gsSCENE membership by at least 25%, with strong focus on retaining current members. This will naturally be teamed with marketing and event planning. I hope to see a vast increase in the usage of our membership card by adding desired businesses, and bringing more awareness to members and vendors about the benefits of the card. gsSCENE’s last member survey responses were very valuable, therefore getting it in front of more members will be given strong effort.” (Amy Osborne, Chair)

Marketing Committee
Meets 4th Thursday of every month at 4 p.m. This committee works with all of the gsSCENE committees to help get the word out about all our events, accomplishments and news. They focus on our monthly newsletter, facebook page, blog and all promotions from TV commercials to e-mails. “I am thrilled to be the new chair for the marketing committee and can’t wait for the fun to begin. We have an enthusiastic team and encourage anyone who is equally excited about this group to join the marketing committee and show our peers how beneficial it is to be a gsSCENE member. I want every young professional in our area to know about gsSCENE and how it can enhance the careers of young professionals in this area! I want to encourage each existing member and new member to serve as a walking billboard for the gsSCENE. If we can all contribute in some way to growing the organization, we will have the utmost potential for success in the new year. If you have had a good, great, or indifferent experience with the gsSCENE, please feel free to put your hand up and tell us about it. We need your feedback in order to learn how to move forward in making positive changes to the group and how we are perceived in the community.” (Annie Obuchowski, Chair)
