MBACC Announces YP of the Year, Jenifer Sweat

Jenifer Sweat was named the 2009 Young Professional of the Year at the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting on October 29, 2009. Jenifer has done a tremendous job incorporating business and community with her career. Jenifer represents FSA-Full Steam Ahead Inc. Fire and Water Restoration at many different business and nonprofit events. Volunteering her time, energy and passion is in her heart and a big part of Jenifer’s life.
In 2007 when gsSCENE for Young Professionals was first coming to fruition, Jenifer was the perfect person to help start up this organization. Since 2007 she has been a member of the gsSCENE Steering Committee. On the committee she has served as chair of the Events and Education Committee in 2007-2008 and presently serves as the chair of the Membership Committee.
Jenifer volunteers for a variety of area nonprofit organizations including The American Red Cross. Angela Nicholas, CEO of Coastal South Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross states, “Jenifer Sweat is one of those energetic young people who are always reaching out to others in the community who can use a helping hand. As a Red Cross volunteer, Jenifer continues to support fundraisers and activities that help the Red Cross provide disaster services to those in need. She continues to share her knowledge of the Red Cross and its humanitarian mission with others in the community and is a valuable part of our volunteer team.”
Jenifer also volunteers her time to March of Dimes, United Way of Horry County, Grand Strand Miracle League, Horry/Georgetown Fire Chiefs Association Expo, American Advertising Federation- Coastal Carolinas Chapter, Horry County Schools Business Cabinet, Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Grand Strand.
